Oklahoma Health Campus Renamed After $150M Hamm Gift

The University of Oklahoma will rename its Oklahoma City health campus after a $150 million gift from energy executive Harold Hamm, the largest single donation in the university's history, according to a Sept. 22 news release shared with Becker's Hospital Review.

The campus is home to OU Health, the state's only academic health system. Naming an entire health campus after a single donor reflects a broader pattern in academic medicine, where major philanthropy underwrites clinical, research, and educational infrastructure that operating margins and state funding alone often cannot cover.
