USA Health Names Josh Snow Market CEO Over Two Hospitals
USA Health, based in Mobile, Ala., has named Josh Snow market CEO of its adult hospitals division, according to a Sept. 16 health system news release cited by Becker's Hospital Review. Snow, currently CEO of University Hospital, will now oversee both University Hospital and Providence Hospital, two facilities located about 8 miles apart.
The expanded role reflects a consolidated leadership structure that a growing number of health systems are adopting. Rather than staffing each hospital with its own top executive, systems increasingly appoint a single market CEO to run multiple nearby facilities. The approach is designed to align strategy, reduce administrative duplication, and coordinate services across sites that serve overlapping patient populations.
For USA Health, the integrated model puts Mobile's two adult hospitals under one leader, a setup that can streamline decision-making as systems face tight margins and pressure to operate more efficiently. Snow's promotion signals continuity, elevating an existing hospital CEO rather than recruiting externally.
